The Watchers were sent to Earth to watch over mankind. When they saw the beauty of the maidens of Earth, however, they lost their hearts. Their love was considered unholy. No one was allowed to love a human above God.

And so, the Watchers fell from Grace. They were banished to Earth or Below, and never again saw the light of the Heavens...
